Oh, well, Jilly NEVER wanted it to be 'child-friendly', but the previous owner had made it abundantly 'child-friendly', so she wasn't going to can it from day one. We pretty much stopped going there once the stage was removed and music was no longer 'on the menu'.

We got tired of seeing how shitty the customer service was to the people around us. We felt bad, because we knew that the only reason we got good service was that the staff knew us and our child wasn't 'unhappy'...oh, and we know how to leave a tip!

It's unfortunate that without the catering business, The Storm would cease to exist...especially if another coffeeshop were to pop up near by and have customer service and be child-friendly to boot.

i really feel for you on this one. this happened recently to our local place (the quiet storm)...sort of. it's still pretty crappy in some ways, but also much more sterile now. they actually had a note on the menu for a little while that said something like "please take your unhappy child out," and i wasted a beautiful graffiti sticker that i spent a long time working on in the bathroom before i realized they had started to scrub the walls daily. i can't really blame them because i don't think it was particularly solvent before, but it still sucks.
