13th CSA from Kretschmann Farm
In our crate this past Thursday:
1 lrg. & 2 sm. heads of Red Leaf Lettuce (some of the darkest stuff I’ve ever seen!)
1 sm. bunch Basil
1 pd. Green Beans
1 sm. Watermelon
1 pnt. Cherry Tomatoes
6 Tomatoes
5 Roma Tomatoes
5 Pink Tomatoes
1 huge Zucchini Squash
1 gigantic Green Bell Pepper
1 lg. Red Italia Pepper
8 ears Sweet Corn
Corn so sweet, you can eat it without cooking it! I’m loving my little guy’s grubby paint stained hands holding this pristine ear of corn and just munching away!

great blog! What a lovely family you have. You’ve really got me missing our CSA now. We left it behind in NJ when we moved, and the closest one I’ve found here is a 45 minute drive. So I’ve been making do with the local farm stands, rejoicing when there’s local organic produce available and otherwise engaging in the mental debate of local vs. organic. But I so loved having that relationship with our farmer and being part of the CSA community. It makes for such a nice connection to your food!

Thanks Holly! We’re lucky that CSAs are huge here in PA. The farm that we have a share with delivers to spots all over the city and we just have to walk about 1/4 a mile to bag up our goodies! I love the connection to our food too…between our CSA and Farmer’s Markets and our plates! Luckily again, our CSA farm is organic, so we have local and organic food!
