Third CSA Share (21 more to go)

Also*

* some of those listed under ‘Also’ were substituted in place of the half dozen eggs that non-vegan shares get AND apparently, after making a complaint about my bag of salad mix from last week being sub-par, I got a lot of things to replace them and to make up for them being crappy. PCFA gets my vote so far for Best Pittsburgh CSA!
This year, we decided to try a different CSA arrangement. The last two years we had been using Kretschmann’s Farm, but this year, we’re using Penn’s Corner Farmer Alliance. The following pictures are of the first two CSA shares of the season.

Rome Apples
Red Leaf Lettuce

Beet Greens (with a couple incredibly freaking cute tiny baby beets)
Strawberries

Stir-Fry Greens Mix
Second CSA Share (22 more to go)
Red & Green Kale

The Asparagus, Broccoli and Acini de pepe ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acini_di_pepe ) were all purchased at the Bellevue Farmer’s Market down the street from the CSA pick-up point.
Hopefully, this year, I can keep up with posting about what we get and possibly how I use some of it.
It’s been awhile since I posted a picture of a monkey platter. Elijah has been eating more of “our” food and not grazing as much as usual. I’ve also just not been taking pictures of his food…frankly, “the lazy” has been working for me lately. I like “the lazy”.

It’s been awhile since we’ve stopped in at one of our favorite coffeeshop, Affogato. Too long of awhile.

who knew rocks could be so fun?
There’s more graffiti in Bellevue @ Affogato.
I apologize for being seriously behind with posting about our CSA, but life happens, right. Due to lack of motivation, you won’t be getting a list of crate contents like you usually do…just enjoy looking at yummy veggies.
13th CSA: we didn’t get a 13th, because we were out of town and as a result, you get no picture!
14th CSA:
bounty
salsa!
15th CSA:
yum-o
beautiful green zebras
16th CSA: This was a hectic week and I went grocery shopping on the same day…there just wasn’t time (nor did I have the energy) to unpack it all out on the table for pictures. Sorry.
17th CSA:
I've been needing some extra greens
Twins, I say! Twins!

And there you have it folks. You are visually caught up with what we’ve been eating from the farm. Yay!
